AWANA (‘Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed’)
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not
need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15.
The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him.
AWANA is a global, nondenominational Christian children’s club that currently shares the gospel with over 4.2 million children around the world every week. It was founded in Chicago by two pastors around 70 years ago and continues with the goal of coming alongside and reaching children with the good news of Jesus Christ, giving them a solid spiritual foundation for their lives.
To do this, we work together with parents to help the children memorize scripture and apply it to their lives along with fun games and activities. We aim to teach them respect for God and God’s word; increase their understanding of His Word and wisdom; teach grace in relationships; give them a sense of destiny and purpose to see the world from God’s perspective.
We meet weekly on Fridays at 16.45 till 18.30 in the sanctuary. The children are split into groups: Cubbies is for children aged between 3 and 4 years; Sparks involves children from K to 2nd grade; and T & T is for everyone in 3rd to 6th grade. For exact details and dates please see the calendar as we have a break in the school holidays.
We look forward to seeing you!
