“The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world”

William Ross Wallace, 1865

Dear Mama,

you and your little one are warmly invited to spend time together with other moms and their kids. We meet once a week in the playroom of our church’s community apartment to sing children’s songs and chat over coffee or tea while our kids play together.

It matters to us that even the littlest ones experience God’s love!

We’re all very different women who found ourselves, not too long ago, in the same role: motherhood. That’s what we have in common – we share the struggles and the joys that come with sleepless nights and our children’s milestones. We also share a vision: we want to become the mothers God planned for us to be from the very beginning, so we can pass on an eternal inheritance to our children.

The Calling of Motherhood

That’s our theme: what this means, and just how great our calling as mothers is. It’s so easy for a mom to lose not just her patience over piles of laundry and dirty dishes, but also sight of the bigger picture. How challenging it is to keep doing this unseen work, again and again! That’s why we want to encourage one another as mothers and remind ourselves together that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. (From a poem by William Ross Wallace, 1865)

Your Child

Your child is a piece of history before it happens – a gift you’re sending into a time when you’ll no longer be here (Tim Kimmel – Grace Based Parenting, 2005).

So how does this work in practice – passing this inheritance on to our children? Alongside Bible passages we discuss together, we also talk about very practical everyday tips and tricks, encourage one another, and head home enriched, with tired and worn-out kids.
